Scenario: You run a small catering company that specializes in West Coast-style party food made from locally-sourced, organic products. You want to create a catering service listing.
| 1. | Create a listing from the Service template. Refer to Creating a listing (general) for more information. |
The listing is created and displayed in Preview mode. If you navigate away from the listing, you can find it again by clicking Manage | Listings and searching for the listing under Inactive listings.
| 2. | Edit the listing overview. |
You want to explain that you can accommodate parties of between 25 and 75 people. You also want to explain what is included in the price and what can be purchased for an additional cost.
| 3. | Edit the terms and conditions. |
You want to identify any terms and conditions related to the booking. For example, you will want to outline your policies for rescheduling and canceling.
| 4. | Edit the pricing. |
You can only accommodate 1 catering job at a time, so you enter 1 for Spots available per timeslot and 1 for Spots used for price. The Price for catering services varies by the number of attendees, so you create several custom price tiers for customers to choose from.
| 5. | Set the start and end date for the listing. |
When you created the service listing, the start and end dates defaulted to the day you created the listing. You want to set the availability for the entire year, so you change the start date to January 1 and the end date to December 31.
| 6. | Set up the default time slot and add another time slot. |
Your catering company offers a lunch time slot and a dinner time slot every day from Wednesday to Sunday. Your company closes on Mondays and Tuesdays.
| 7. | Set the minimum notice required before booking. |
Your catering company requires 3 days' notice before bookings. This time is required to consult with customers about the booking, order food, and schedule staff.
| 8. | (Optional) Create and assign questions to the listing. |
For example, you might ask customers if they want vegan options, or if any attendees have food allergies.
| 9. | Create custom add-ons for the listing. |
Customers can order hot and cold beverages for an extra cost. They can also order plates, cutlery, glassware, and mugs for an extra cost.
