With an appointment listing, customers can make a booking without making a payment in PlaceFull. It is the merchant's responsibility to collect payment from the customer on the day of the booking.
Scenario: Your salon offers drop-in salon services in the mornings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You are not sure what services your customers will require, so you will calculate the price and collect payment on the day of the booking.
| 1. | Create a listing from the Appointment template. Refer to Creating a listing (general) for more information. |
The listing is created and displayed in Preview mode. If you navigate away from the listing, you can find it again by clicking Manage | Listings and searching for the listing under Inactive listings.
Note: When you use the Appointment template to create a listing, the Enable appointment bookings (unpaid) for this listing option is automatically selected on the Extras tab of the Pricing, Availability & Extras dialog.
| 2. | Edit the listing overview. |
You want to use the overview to explain that prices will be calculated on the day of the booking, based on the salon services the customer requests.
| 3. | Edit the terms and conditions. |
You want to identify any terms and conditions related to the booking. For example, you will want to outline your policies for rescheduling, canceling, and no shows.
| 4. | Edit the pricing. |
The listing price is for an appointment only, so there is no up-front cost. However, you want customers to be able to book by the hour, so under Pricing you select Per Hour and enter a Price of zero (0) dollars per hour.
| 5. | Set the start and end date for the listing. |
When you created the appointment listing, the start and end dates defaulted to the day you created the listing. You want to set the availability for the entire year, so you change the start date to January 1 and the end date to December 31. This ensures that the listing is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning throughout the year.
| 6. | (Optional) Set the minimum notice required before booking. |
| 7. | (Optional) Add turn-around time between time slots. |
| 8. | (Optional) Create and assign questions to the listing. |
| 9. | Link salon chair resources to the listing. |
Your salon has 4 salon chairs, but you only use 2 for the drop-in salon services. You set up the salon chairs as resources and link them to the listing.
You want customers to be able to select an available chair when they make a booking, so you assign both resources to a Category Name of Chair.
The resources will be displayed in a drop-down list labeled Chair.
