With a "to go" listing, customers buy products that have typically been packaged into a kit that they can pick up in store and take home to use. This is the recommended method for selling "to go" products because merchants know exactly when they need to have the customer's "to go" purchase ready for pick up.
Scenario: Your pottery painting studio sells "to go" kits to customers so they can host a painting party at home. Your customers like the convenience of being able to book a 15-minute time slot to pick up their "to go" kits, and it is also helpful for your store to know when you need to have the kits ready for pick up.
| 1. | Create a $0 (zero dollar) listing. |
The listing is created and displayed in Preview mode. If you navigate away from the listing, you can find it again by clicking Manage | Listings and searching for the listing under Inactive listings.
| 2. | Edit the listing overview. |
You want to use the overview to explain that the listing is for a "to go" kit that the customer will pick up at a specific date and time. You might also want to describe what is included in each kit, such as paints, brushes, pottery, and any other materials.
| 3. | Edit the terms and conditions. |
You want to identify any terms and conditions related to the booking. For example, you will want to outline your policies for rescheduling, canceling, and no shows.
| 4. | Edit the pricing. |
You want people to be able to book a time slot to pick up their "to go" kit. However, you want to limit pick ups to one customer per time slot to prevent line ups and ensure pick ups don't interfere with other bookings. You enter 1 for the Spots available per timeslot and 1 for Spots used for price. There is no cost to book the time slot, so you select Custom and enter $0 for the Price.
| 5. | Set the start and end date for the listing. |
When you created the listing, the start and end dates defaulted to the day you created the listing. You want customers to be able to book pick ups every day during regular studio hours. You've set up the Duration of one booking as 15 minutes.
| 6. | Set the minimum notice for the booking. |
You want to make sure your employees have time to prepare the "to go" kits for pick up, so you set the Time required before booking as 24 hours.
| 7. | Create custom add-ons for the "to go" kits. |
You create 2 custom "Party Pack" add-ons based on the number of painters.
| 8. | Create and assign checkout questions to allow customers to select paint colors and pottery. |
After the customer selects their time slot and clicks Book Now, they can select the Party Pack add-ons they want to purchase and answer the questions about paints and pottery.
