A customer may not be able to use a promo code for the following reasons:

Customer input error (e.g., the customer typed NY2024 instead of NYE2024)

The promo code can only be applied to specific listings, and the customer is tying to apply the promo code to a listing that is not included in the promotion

The promotion has expired (e.g., the promotion ended December 31 and the customer is trying to book a listing in January)
-
The promo code can only be used for events that occur on a specific day or during a specific period (e.g., Mother's Day, Easter weekend, Black Friday weekend, New Year's Eve)

The promo code has a maximum number of uses, and the maximum number of uses has been reached
Checking whether a promo code can be applied to a listing
| 1. | Do one of the following to open the Promotion Manager: |

Click Promos.

Click SmartFull and click Manage Promos.
| 2. | On the Promotion Manager screen, click View Active Promotions. |
| 3. | (Optional) Click in the Search field and type all or part of the Promotion Group Title to look up the promotion. |
| 4. | In the list of promotions, in the # of Listings column, if you see: |

All: The promo code can be applied to all listings, including all public and private listings. The customer can apply the promo code to any listing.

A number (e.g., 1, 2, 3): Click the number. The included listings display in the Valid towards field. Ask the customer which listing they are trying to book. If the listing they are trying to book is displayed in the Valid towards field, the customer can apply the promo code to that listing. If the listing is not displayed in the Valid towards field, the customer cannot apply the promo code to that listing.

Public: The promo code can only be applied to public listings. Ask the customer which listing they are trying to book, and then check whether the listing is public or private. To do this, click Manage | Listings, then click the Edit button above the calendar to display the Pricing, Availability & Extras dialog. Go to the Extras tab. If there is no password displayed in the Private Listing section, the listing is public and the customer can apply the promo code to that listing. If there is a password displayed in the Private Listing section, the listing is private and the customer cannot apply the promo code to that listing.

Private: The promo code can only be applied to private listings. Ask the customer which listing they are trying to book, and then check whether the listing is public or private. To do this, click Manage | Listings, then click the Edit button above the calendar to display the Pricing, Availability & Extras dialog. Go to the Extras tab. If there is no password displayed in the Private Listing section, the listing is public and the customer cannot apply the promo code to that listing. If there is a password displayed in the Private Listing section, the listing is private and the customer can apply the promo code to that listing.
Checking whether the promotion has expired

| 3. | (Optional) Click in the Search field and type all or part of the Promotion Group Title to look up the promotion. |
| 4. | In the list of promotions, in the End Date column, if the date is in the past (e.g., December 31, 2024) the promotion has expired and customers can no longer use the promo code. |
Checking whether the promo code can only be used for events that occur on a specific day or during a specific period
| 1. | Do one of the following to open the Promotion Manager: |

| 6. | Ask the customer what date they are trying to book. |

If the date the customer is trying to book is on (or between) the Start Date and End Date beside For Events Between, they can apply the promo code to the listing.

If the date the customer is trying to book is before the State Date or after the End Date beside For Events Between, they cannot apply the promo code to the listing.
Checking whether the promo code has maximum number of uses

| 2. | On the Promotion Manager screen, click View Active Promotions. |
| 3. | (Optional) Click in the Search field and type all or part of the Promotion Group Title to look up the promotion. |
| 4. | In the list of promotions, click the Edit icon next to the promotion. |
| 5. | Select Show advanced settings. |
| 6. | Check the Max Uses field. |

If there is no number in the field, there is no limit on the number of times the promo code can be used. The customer can apply the promo code to a listing or listings.

If there is a number in the field, click the Promotion Codes tab to see how many times the promo code has been used. If the promo code has already been used the maximum number of times, the customer cannot apply the promo code to a listing.
